A Taste of Paradise near Manasota Beach, Florida

Just a short walk from the idyllic Manasota Beach and a few minutes drive from Venice, is where you will find A Taste of Paradise set in half an acre of landscaped garden and conservation land.

The villa is at the end of a peaceful shell lane.

Manasota Beach is the most delightful beach you could wish for. The sand is pure white, and the sea is just superb. The area is unspoilt having only a toilet/shower block and some covered picnic/barbecue tables.

There is adequate parking, which gives access to both the beach and the Intracoastal Waterway, where fishing is a must.

A lifeguard is present during the season for your added peace of mind, but the beach is very safe for families.

During the spring gopher turtles make nests in the sand, and these areas are always roped off to ensure you don't disturb a nest.

A favourite pastime is searching for fossilised shark's teeth along the shore.

If the sun is too hot, cool off by taking a stroll through the leafy boardwalk between the beach and the intracoastal waterway. Here you may catch a glimpse of some of Florida's wonderful birds and other wildlife.

In the evening take your favourite drink with you and stroll down to the beach to watch some of the most spectacular sunsets you will ever see, as night falls across the Gulf of Mexico.

The Manasota Beach area is truly Florida the way it used to be before the arrival of theme parks and freeways - an experience not to be missed.

Manasota Beach is situated in the South Venice area of Sarasota County. The area abounds in Golf Courses and beautiful beaches. The coastline in the main has the beaches separated from the mainland by the Intracoastal Waterway. Manasota is one of the few places where this is bridged, so access is easy. 11 minutes drive will bring you to Venice - a truly wonderful resort, with theatres, upmarket shops and restaurants (try the seafood - it is out of this world) and wonderful buildings. 6 minutes drive will bring you to the shopping plaza where you can buy all your daily needs, and a great deal more. This is also the junction with the main road, which means easy accessibility to the rest of Florida or to and from the airport. The Manasota Beach area is a mixture of old and new houses, all individual - you won't find estates or subdivisions of like houses here. Many of the houses are set in their own grounds, as is our villa, affording privacy and peace after your day out.
